Applied Pediatric Nursing: Complex Cases, Chronic Conditions, and Transitions of Care

Strong pediatric nursing integrates technical skill with care of chronically ill children, technology-dependent patients, and transitions of care. This applied course teaches that integration through case-based modules. By the end of this course you will be able to support children with chronic and complex conditions, manage care of technology-dependent pediatric patients, support transitions of care including to adolescent and adult services, and engage families across long care arcs. What you will learn: - Approaches to chronic pediatric conditions including diabetes, asthma, and oncology care - Approaches to technology-dependent children including ventilator support and feeding tubes - Approaches to neurodevelopmental disabilities including communication adaptations - Approaches to acute deterioration including pediatric early warning systems - Approaches to transitions between hospital, home, and community-based services - Approaches to transition planning into adolescent and adult services - Approaches to family-centered chronic care including sibling and caregiver considerations The course is structured around case-based applied modules. Each module presents a complex scenario, walks through structured reasoning, and produces a written care plan you compare against the worked-through example. This course is written for pediatric nurses deepening practice. It does not replace supervised clinical practice or institution-specific protocols. By the end you will have structured frameworks for the complex, long-arc work of pediatric nursing.
