Foundations of Critical Care and ICU Nursing

Critical care nursing manages patients whose condition can change in minutes. Sound practice rests on understanding the structure of the ICU, the role of monitoring, and the philosophy that guides critical care decisions. This foundational course provides that base. By the end of this course you will be able to describe the structure and team of the ICU, recognize the categories of patients seen, understand the role of monitoring at multiple levels, and identify the principles of critical care decision making.
