Foundational Math for Competitive Entrance Exams

Are you preparing for a selective middle school math program or simply looking to accelerate your mathematical abilities beyond the standard curriculum? This course provides a rigorous foundation in advanced elementary and early middle school mathematics. By focusing on deep understanding and creative problem-solving rather than memorization, you will develop the critical thinking skills required to tackle complex mathematical challenges and succeed in competitive environments. What you'll learn: * Understand fundamental concepts in number theory, including divisibility rules, prime factorization, and modular arithmetic basics. * Apply logical reasoning and systematic counting techniques to solve introductory combinatorics problems. * Practice translating complex word problems into early algebraic expressions and equations. * Master geometric concepts related to perimeter, area, volume, and spatial reasoning for common shapes. * Develop robust problem-solving strategies essential for timed competitive math tests. The content begins with a review of numerical properties and arithmetic, progresses through foundational concepts in logic, number theory, and geometry, and concludes with extensive practice in applied problem-solving techniques. This course is designed exclusively for beginners—students aged approximately 10 to 12 (5th and 6th grade level) who seek accelerated math instruction. No prior competitive math experience is required, only a strong desire to learn. Start building a powerful mathematical foundation today.
